Jack Levitt started very unexpectedly.  A chance meeting of two guys, who just ended up in San Antonio.  Bob had moved from Yorktown, TX and Lenny had been transferred from Ohio.  Meeting through a mutual friend, they began hanging out and just discussing the possibility of starting a band.  Meanwhile, Bob continued to play the bars and honkytonks as an acoustic act.

As the talking got tiresome, the two began to practice. Soon after Jack Levitt became a three-piece with the addition of a drummer, Jalapeno.  Jalapeno, as he was named, proved to be an important addition to the Jack Levitt song writing process.  The three spend numerous hours locked in the garage practicing and pissing off the neighbors.  Soon, it was time to leave.

Bob handles the other half of the vocals and guitar duties.  Originally from Yorktown, TX, and now living in San Antonio, he has played in several bands up until Jack Levitt.

Manny is the drummer.  Enough said.

Laying down the beat for Jack Levitt is no simple task.  Manny’s back ground comes from playing and touring in the Hardcore Metal scene of San Antonio and Houston.  Manny is the only native San Antonian in the band.  And it’s true, drummers get all the girls.

Ernie, a.k.a. Dangeroso, came to Jack Levitt as a drummer, but quickly migrated to the front of the stage.  He takes on the job of a vocalist and guitar player.  Ernie comes from a Tejano background, which adds a distinct flavor to the music.  Originally from Brownsville, Ernie now lives in San Antonio.

Lenny brings to the band not only the solid, pounding low tones, but also a personality as big as Texas.  He comes from McAllen, TX and now lives in San Antonio.

Jack comes from our many nights of staying up too late, drinking too much and, sleeping to little.  Jack is the first name of a band made up of music fans and dreamers. We have made it our mission to not get old being tamed by day to day routine.  You won’t find this group in a high society, uptown, drinkery.  Try looking for a genuine Honky Tonk, with a dim lit sign out front, and a band playing real music, that comes straight from people who know how to have a good time, and are good at it.
